Over dit evenement
How much emotional responsibility have you carried this year that was never entirely yours?
The people you’ve tried to keep happy, the expectations you’ve worked to meet, the emotions you’ve held back to avoid conflict and the times you’ve placed your own needs aside because someone else’s felt more important.
As the year comes to an end, we often focus on everything we’ve accomplished, overcome or still need to finish. Yet we rarely give the same attention to the emotional weight we’ve accumulated along the way.
Full Moon & Winter Solstice Integration is a 90-minute therapist-led neurowellness experience designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body and create space for emotional processing, reflection and restoration.
On December 24, we experience the Full Moon in Cancer, traditionally associated with emotional security, family, belonging, personal history and our relationship with home.
Cancer invites us to explore what it means to feel emotionally supported, how our early experiences may influence the way we care for ourselves and others, and the patterns we continue to carry into our adult relationships.
The holiday season can bring these themes particularly close to the surface.
For some, December is a time of connection and celebration. For others, it can bring complicated family dynamics, grief, loneliness, emotional exhaustion or the pressure to meet expectations that no longer reflect who they are.
Sometimes, even returning to familiar environments or spending time with people we love can activate old emotional responses.
Our nervous system learns through experience. Patterns such as people-pleasing, emotional withdrawal, hypervigilance or taking responsibility for other people’s feelings may have developed as ways of navigating relationships and maintaining a sense of safety.
Recognizing these responses allows us to approach them with greater understanding, rather than judgment.
This Full Moon also arrives just three days after the Winter Solstice on December 21, the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of the gradual return of daylight.
Traditionally, the Winter Solstice symbolizes rest, renewal and the transition from darkness towards light.
Together, these seasonal and lunar themes offer a meaningful opportunity to reflect on what the past year has asked of us, what we have learned about our emotional needs and what we may no longer wish to carry forward.
Not everything needs to be resolved before the year ends. Some experiences need time, understanding and space to be acknowledged.
Through guided meditation, gentle nervous system practices and intentional reflection, we’ll explore our relationship with emotional safety, personal boundaries and the patterns that influence how we connect with ourselves and others.
During the experience, we’ll work with:
* Gentle breathwork and nervous system regulation practices
* Guided Cancer Full Moon and Winter Solstice meditation
* Body awareness and emotional reflection
* Exploring emotional needs, family patterns and personal boundaries
* Journaling around belonging, self-care and what we’re ready to release
* Symbolic reflection on the Winter Solstice and the transition into a new year
* Space for deep rest, integration and reconnection
You can appreciate how far you’ve come while acknowledging how much it has taken to get here. And you can enter a new year without carrying every responsibility, expectation or version of yourself that helped you survive the last one.
The experience is facilitated by Joanna N. Thomas, an Integrative Therapist with an MA in Psychology and Reiki Master & Teacher, bringing psychological understanding, trauma-informed practice and complementary wellbeing modalities into one carefully facilitated experience.
