🌿 Letting Go, Trust & Support — Somatic Movement Workshops
Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) | November 1 & 8 | Amsterdam
Exploring ourselves, our patterns, and our relationships through movement, dance, and connection.
How do we meet challenges in life? What happens when we try to let go of control? How do we give and receive support, and stay connected to ourselves while relating to others?
So much of how we move through life also shows up in how we move with our bodies.
In these two workshops, we invite you to explore these questions through somatic movement, dance, and embodied connection.
We'll use Contact Beyond Contact (CBC), a movement practice that brings together elements of somatics, mindfulness, contact improvisation, authentic movement, qigong, and other embodied practices.
Through movement, we can become more aware of our habits, emotions, boundaries, and ways of relating. We get to experiment with different responses, discover something new about ourselves, and perhaps find more space and freedom in how we move through life.
✨ A little about our approach
These workshops are guided by a somatic psychologist and therapist, together with an experienced somatic movement facilitator.
We bring our backgrounds in psychology, somatic therapy, and movement practices into the way we guide the explorations and hold the space.
For us, movement is not only about dancing or expressing ourselves. It's also a way of listening to our bodies, becoming curious about our patterns, and exploring things that can sometimes be difficult to reach through words alone.
And of course, it doesn't all have to be serious! There is plenty of room for playfulness, creativity, laughter, and the simple joy of moving and connecting with others.
We're offering two workshops, each exploring a different theme. You can join either one individually or come to both for a deeper exploration.

#Moving Through Obstacles — Letting Go & Moving Forward
How do we relate to our goals and the obstacles we encounter along the way?
What happens when things don't go as planned? Do we push harder, resist, give up, or find another way?
In this workshop, we'll explore our relationship with challenges, resistance, and letting go. Through movement, we'll get curious about our familiar responses and experiment with different ways of meeting obstacles.
We'll start with a guided *Non-Linear Movement Method* practice to connect with our bodies, move with what is present, and make space for emotions and sensations. From there, we'll continue into CBC explorations, both individually and together with others.
We'll explore:
- How we relate to goals, challenges, and obstacles
- Our patterns around resistance and control
- What it feels like to let go and allow things to unfold differently
- Finding new ways of moving forward, with more awareness and trust

# The Dance of Support — Finding Your Center & Letting Go
What does support feel like in your body?
How easy is it to lean on someone, ask for help, or allow yourself to receive? And what happens when the support you're used to is no longer there?
In this workshop, we'll explore the different ways we relate to support, from others, from ourselves, and from life.
Through movement and connection, we'll play with giving and receiving support, finding our own center, and noticing what happens when we hold on, let go, or allow ourselves to be supported.
We'll begin with an *Authentic Movement* practice, inviting us to slow down, listen inward, and allow movement to emerge from within.
We'll explore:
- Our patterns of giving, receiving, and asking for support
- Finding our center while staying connected with others
- How we respond when support is not available
- Letting go of resistance and finding more ease in how we relate

💛 Who can join?
Everyone is welcome, whether you've experienced CBC before or are completely new to it.
You might already love conscious dance and want to explore movement in a different way, with more space for self-inquiry. Or perhaps you're curious about somatics, your emotional and relational patterns, and connecting more deeply with your body.
You don't need any dance skills or previous experience. Some familiarity with conscious movement can be helpful, but curiosity and openness are enough.
Both workshops stand on their own, so you're welcome to join just one or come to both.
