The Inner Escape: A MASCAS Alumni Weekend

It is time to step out of your daily life, free from constant incentives and control and commit yourself to entering a new dimension. Inspired by the work of Marina Abramović, MASCAS has designed an immersive experience titled The Inner Escape: a unique crossover between self-development, performance art, and urban exploration.

Exclusively open to alumni of MASCAS programs, this weekend centres on a series of immersive exercises that build in both intensity and duration. Grounded in space, consciousness, duration, expression, and silence, these challenges are crafted to help you explore the boundaries between comfort and discomfort in a safe environment, without going to extremes.

Your ticket includes accommodation and all meals (drinks are at your own expense). Once you register, you will receive further practical details to help you prepare for the experience.

Facilitators:
Thomas Bijen and Dorchess de Koning will guide this weekend.

Thomas Bijen (1980) is a creative all-rounder. Although his background is in technical sciences, art, the creative process, and interaction with people truly drive him. He earned his Master of Science in Industrial Design Engineering from TU Delft and has worked from his Rotterdam studio for the past decade. He also teaches as a designer at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and organises creative retreats in places such as Andalusia.

Dorchess is a certified embodiment coach, experience designer, and the founder of Awe Academy. With a background in mental health science, art, systemic work and action methods, she is a sought-after facilitator and keynote speaker.

Her purpose is to help people experience awe, develop personally and professionally and determine their next steps for impact.

Dorchess designs change programs, off-sites, and workshops, drawing on her previous experience as an interim consultant and therapist. Utilising the power of group dynamics, she loves helping people grow into who they are.
